About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and compassionate Hospital/Ward Administrator to join our team at Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our outpatient clinics.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Assist patients and their families/carers with wayfinding and checking in to clinic, using the patient kiosk as necessary.
  2. Inform clinical Senior Nursing staff of patients who require prioritization, such as those with poor vision or decreased mobility.
  3. Assist patients with mobility issues and ensure they are aware of how to access refreshments while in clinic.
  4. Communicate any delays in clinic to reception staff and patients to ensure they are kept informed.
  5. Highlight patients requiring urgent care, multiple appointments, and other underlying circumstances to the senior clinical team.
  6. Report any concerns and patient queries to the senior staff member in the clinic.
  7. Identify bottlenecks in clinics and assist with giving patients feedback cards to ensure feedback is obtained following their visit.
  8. Ensure confidential data is removed at the end of each clinic.
Requirements
  • Educated to GCSE level (including English and Maths to GCSE A-C), or equivalent qualifications.
  • Experience of carrying out work tasks using IT systems such as MS Office.
  • Previous experience using Trust IT systems e.g. PAS, OpenEyes.
  • Previous experience within the NHS.
  • Experience of delivering excellent customer service to the public.
