Sales & Estimating Engineer Role

The successful Sales & Estimating Engineer will play a pivotal role in driving the delivery of our Sales Plan, ensuring quality, delivery, and cost performance criteria are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and develop regular contact with established and emerging customers to support the delivery of our sales strategy.
  • Work closely with the Commercial - Business Development & Marketing department to ensure alignment and effective collaboration.
  • Input customer feedback into our CRM system to inform business decisions.
  • Provide market intelligence on competitor activities and support the development of Design/Make tender proposals.
  • Support project management of Design/Make contracts, working alongside production departments to ensure seamless execution.
  • Liaise with subcontractors to obtain external pricing and lead-time information.
  • Read and interpret customer demand forecasts to inform business decisions.
  • Support contract review of customer purchase orders and implement any routing change requests, including 'lessons learnt' activities.
  • Generate and support the production of manufacturing drawings.
  • Investigate variance to standard route and work with other departments to resolve manufacturing issues as they arise.
  • Develop and encourage regular face-to-face contact with other departments to develop relationships and improve estimating and routing standardisation.
  • Update and maintain estimation quotation database and any other Commercial data.
  • Generate commercial reports as directed, including KPIs.
  • Attend meetings and/or deputise as directed.
  • Provide training to employees as required.
