About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a Palliative Care Clinical Educator. The successful candidate will work closely with the Lead Nurse for Cancer and Palliative Care and the Nursing Midwifery and Education Lead to develop and lead clinical, virtual, and classroom education in relation to the care of patients with palliative care needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on the delivery of inter-professional education to ensure staff proficiency in caring for patients with palliative care needs.
  • Organise, develop, and lead the delivery of clinical training programmes to meet the learning needs of the clinical workforce.
  • Maintain and develop clinical expertise to act as an expert resource to colleagues by guiding practice development and education delivery.
  • Work clinically with staff in the wards and departments to improve their assessment and management of palliative care patients.
  • Work collaboratively with the Lead Nurse for Cancer and Palliative Care and Clinical Educators to deliver inter-professional point of care teaching programmes to enhance patient care to all disciplines of healthcare staff.
Requirements
  • NMC registration.
  • Certificate in education or equivalent teaching certificate.
  • Mentor/Assessor Qualification.
  • Relevant Professional Degree.
