Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Retirement Benefits Strategic Advisor to join our team at Barclays. As a key member of our pensions governance department, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing retirement plans and benefits programmes that align with our organisation's strategy.

About the Role

  1. You will be responsible for ensuring the development, implementation, and delivery of retirement plans and benefits programmes are compliant with all applicable internal governance requirements and external regulation.
  2. Your expertise will be instrumental in staying up-to-date with applicable legislative and regulatory changes.
  3. You will communicate effectively with employees and managers to educate them on available retirement and benefit options.
  4. You will conduct market research and develop an appropriate retirement and benefits strategy, administration, and compliance.
  5. You will engage with external vendors/stakeholders to manage the administration and delivery of retirement and benefits services.
  6. You will oversee and govern all cost elements relevant to the provision of retirement and benefits plans.
  7. If managing a team, you will define jobs and responsibilities, plan for future needs and operations, and contribute to employee pay decisions/changes.
  8. You will advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management, on functional and cross-functional areas of impact and alignment.
  9. You will identify, assess, and mitigate risks through assessment, supporting the control and governance agenda.

Responsibilities

You will work closely with our professional in-house pensions team and their advisers to shape how we evolve our approach to addressing member complaints and better manage member expectations.
