Associate Specialist Nurse

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality care to patients with upper GI cancer at Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The post is newly funded by Macmillan and will provide support to the upper GI cancer team.
Main Responsibilities- Work closely with the dedicated upper GI cancer multidisciplinary team to provide continuity of care and improve the quality of life for patients with cancer.
- Support the band 7 CNS post-holder in their role as keyworker to patients in their caseload.
- Deputise for the band 7 CNS post-holder in their absence.
- Provide holistic assessments of needs and implement patient-centred care.
- Liaise with tertiary centres and their staff for patients undergoing investigations or treatment outside West Dorset.
- Develop and deliver individualised, specialised plans of care.
- Ensure swift and efficient patient pathways, working collaboratively with colleagues to meet cancer waiting times.
- Registered Nurse
- Three years post-registration experience
- Knowledge of upper GI cancer management
- Evidence of ongoing professional development
