About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nursing Associate to join our team at Mid Dorset Primary Healthcare Ltd. As a key member of our clinical team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our registered nurses in their daily tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients while undertaking specific clinical and care tasks under the direction of a registered nurse.
  • Provide holistic and person-centred care to individuals, prioritising their needs and promoting good health and independence.
  • Contribute to the delivery of integrated care, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Support registered nurses to enable them to focus on more complex clinical care, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care.
  • Perform and record clinical observations, such as blood pressure, temperature, respirations, and pulse, and provide flu vaccinations, ECGs, and venepuncture as required.
  • Advise patients on general healthcare and promote self-management, signposting them to personalised care colleagues and local community and voluntary sector services.
  • Maintain accurate and contemporaneous patient health records, ensuring that clinical data is appropriately recorded on SystmOne using Ardens templates.

We are looking for a candidate with the following skills and qualities:

  • Ability to take part in reflective practice and clinical supervision activities.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise own delegated workload.
  • Knowledge of IT systems, including ability to use word processing skills, emails, and the internet to create simple plans and reports.
  • Ability to work as a team member and autonomously.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and carers, and all members of the multi-disciplinary team.
