The Southside Community Centre Association SCIO seeks a seasoned Financial Management Expert to oversee the financial resources of its Board of Trustees. As Treasurer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Board to manage its financial affairs effectively.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing monthly updates to the Board on the centre's financial position.
  • Oversight of financial procedures and practices.
  • Collaboration with accountants to prepare annual financial statements.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and good practice.

About the role:

  • Detailed financial management skills essential.
  • Experience as Treasurer is not required, but experience in financial management would be advantageous.

As the leaseholder of the Southside Community Centre, we work closely with the City of Edinburgh Council to provide a safe, inclusive, and well-managed community space that meets the needs of the local community.

The centre offers various facilities, including two general-purpose rooms, a large hall, and a community café, available for use by the community seven days a week. Our spaces are utilised for diverse activities such as English language classes, martial arts, community meetings, fencing, and drama.

We estimate the salary for this role to be £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
