Job Description

As a Learning and Care Assistant with Dundee City Council, you will work in one of our Primary, Secondary, or Specialised Schools, providing part-time support to class teachers and students with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist and support class teachers in delivering a high standard of care and education to meet the physical and developmental requirements of children and young people with additional support needs.
  • Work with children and young people who have complex and additional support needs, providing a high standard of care and remaining calm in challenging situations.
  • Be an effective team member, assisting and supporting class teachers to provide a comprehensive educational programme.

Requirements

  • PDA ESQ qualification or equivalent (at SCQF level 6 or above).
  • Experience of working with children and/or young people with complex and additional support needs.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to be an effective team member.
