We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced DCS Control Systems Engineer to join our team at Enfield, Grain & Taylors Lane (EGTL) power plants. EGTL plays a vital role in Uniper's transition to a low-carbon future, generating over 1820MW of electricity when renewable sources are insufficient. Our diverse team of engineers works collaboratively across all three sites, fostering a strong sense of community.

Your Responsibilities
  • Provide proactive day-to-day maintenance and support for the site's DCS infrastructure.
  • Manage and implement SIL and cybersecurity procedures to ensure operational safety and data protection.
  • Mentor and develop technicians and other personnel involved in station operations, enhancing their understanding of DCS systems.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and commitment to meet demanding business requirements, including 24/7 call-out or remote support.
  • Engineer, implement, and commission plant improvements that require modifications to the DCS system, its code, or process parameters.
  • Coordinate and support re-commissioning activities and return to service of units following outages.
  • Manage budgets and contracts effectively, forecasting expenditures, tracking progress, and ensuring high-quality work execution.
  • Provide support across two other sites in the South East region from your base at Enfield.
Your Profile Essential Qualifications
  • Familiarity with ABB AC160, AC450, and 800xa systems.
  • An HNC or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • A strong understanding of industrial control systems and automation technologies.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience with other DCS platforms, such as Siemens PCS7 or Emerson DeltaV.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., IEC 61508).
