Job Summary

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the role of Genomic Innovation Director. This position will play a crucial part in the East Genomic Medicine Service Alliance, leading the coordination of genomic research and innovation projects across the region.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing senior leadership and direction to the Genomic Innovation team, working closely with the Clinical Director, Strategy Director, and other senior team members. They will be expected to develop and implement strategies to drive genomic research and innovation forward, building strong relationships with key stakeholders, including NHS Trusts, academic institutions, and industry partners.

Key Requirements

  • PhD level or equivalent experience in a relevant field
  • Proven leadership experience in managing teams and delivering transformational change
  • Strong understanding of the UK research funding landscape and experience of working with partners such as the National Institute of Healthcare Research (NIHR)
  • Knowledge of the NHS innovation landscape and experience of working with partners such as the Health Innovation networks
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing competing demands and priorities
