About the Role:

Huphuphup is seeking a highly skilled Ecologist Specialist to join our team. As an Associate Ecologist, you will play a pivotal role in steering initiatives across our national team, focusing on biodiversity net gain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership: Oversee the technical quality of outputs, ensuring they meet the highest standards.
  • Project Director: Take on a leadership role in larger or more intricate ventures, driving them from inception to completion.
  • Technical Expertise: Champion your area of expertise, staying updated with the latest trends and sharing insights with the team.
  • Training and Development: Play a key role in internal training initiatives, mentoring and collaborating with members across the organization.
  • Collaboration and Quality Enhancement: Enhance work quality by collaborating across disciplines and with contractors.

Requirements:

  • Academic Qualifications: Top academic qualifications in ecology or biological sciences.
  • Survey Skills: Excellent survey skills, including extended Phase I, protected species surveys (with at least one licence or specialism) and/or botanical survey(s).
  • CIEEM Membership: To be a CIEEM member working towards Chartership.
  • EIA and HRA Experience: Experience with EIA and HRA.
  • Report Writing and Reviewing: Strong report writing and reviewing capabilities.
  • Legislative and Planning Policy Framework: A solid grasp of the legislative and planning policy framework.
  • Project Director: The ability to take the lead as a Project Director on larger projects, ensuring their timely and successful delivery.
  • Liaising with Statutory Bodies: Confidence in liaising with statutory bodies and LPAs.
  • Team Player: To be an enthusiastic team player, always ready to pitch in and collaborate.
  • Commitment to Excellence: A commitment to the pursuit of excellence in all tasks.
  • Communication Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence.
