About the Role

We are seeking a Support Worker to join our team at Penderels Trust to provide support and companionship to an individual with Autism. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the individual with daily tasks, social activities, and leisure pursuits.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the individual to access sporting and leisure activities
  • Assist with daily tasks, such as gardening and household chores
  • Encourage socialisation and participation in activities
  • Develop a good and trusting working relationship with the individual
  • Support the individual to attend social events, such as the Adult Disco for people with disabilities

Requirements

  • Previous caring experience is essential
  • Be honest, reliable, trustworthy, and punctual
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect privacy
  • Be able to work on own initiative and follow instructions accurately
  • Be patient, supportive, and caring
  • Have good listening skills and be able to provide non-judgemental emotional support
  • Be empathetic and have a lively personality

Transport Requirements

The successful candidate will need to have a car and business insurance.

About the Employer

The individual is a 23-year-old gentleman living at home with parents. He has Autism, which causes extreme anxiety and affects his cognitive ability and learning disabilities. He enjoys going to the cinema and the gym.
