Barker Ross is currently seeking a skilled Site Operations Manager to join their team in Rugby, Warwickshire.


The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the implementation of preventative and corrective maintenance tasks and improvements across the ambient site.

This role has a 70% mechanical 30% electrical bias split.


Shifts are 06:00 - 14:00 and 14:00 - 22:00, working Monday to Friday.


The ideal candidate will have preferably food or packing experience.


The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Able to positively lead a team of people (temporary labour).
  • Forward planning and delivery.
  • Develops best practice and drives continuous improvement in all aspects of performance.
  • Ownership of specific jobs/projects through to successful completion.
  • Complete risk assessments/method statements to ensure safe running of all factory equipment and processes.
  • Identify and report all stock /spares issues.
  • Prioritise own work load with consideration to output, product quality and line efficiency.
  • To assist in the training and development of new starters.
  • Monitor, control and minimise waste.
  • Drive own personal development through training and work based experience.
  • To adhere to and promote best practice in accordance with company Health, Safety and Quality regulations.
  • Provide a service based on Reliability, Quality and Repeatability, which is both measurable and auditable.
  • To ensure that all areas comply with hygiene audits, both internal and external.
  • To ensure GMP (good manufacturing practices) and housekeeping (clean as you go) are strictly adhered to.


Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) for this role include:

  • Production targets
  • Quality
  • H&S
  • Waste targets
  • Production training and coaching of colleagues
  • Meet standards required for internal and external audits
