**About the Role**

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Director to join our team at Loblaw Companies Limited. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for securing the best cost for the enterprise and driving category strategy.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Meet with Category Director(s) in Merchandising to understand procurement needs and identify vendors based on a set of criteria/scorecard
* Share information with Merchandising and Control Brand teams on new products available and market trends
* Provide insight and input on new innovative sourcing and procurement opportunities tied to improving cost and category strategy
* Collaborate with category teams for quality related issues
* Work with Procurement Support team members for new vendor setup and new items that require signoff in collaboration with the Central Data Management (CDM) team
* Collaborate with the Replenishment and Transport teams to resolve major inventory issues
* Facilitate where needed on major vendor stock supply chain issues
* Provide updates to the Senior Director of Procurement on strategies and initiatives
* Conduct and review post-mortem analysis on vendor management and procurement effectiveness
* Work with the Merchandising team to review performance metrics and determine specific actions required
* Guide, coach, and motivate Procurement team members, and conduct performance reviews

**Requirements**

* Demonstrated success in a procurement or merchandising role
* Passion for buying and confident negotiator
* Strategic attitude with a track record of achieving performance achievements
* Strong Financial Competence
