D2E International VT Consultants Ltd is seeking a highly organized and proactive Financial Manager to join our team on a part-time basis.
As a key member of our finance team, you will work closely with a Finance Assistant Apprentice to ensure the accurate and efficient management of all transactional finance activities.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience with the ownership of sales and purchase ledgers, as well as the ability to use their own initiative to resolve historic transactional discrepancies effectively.
Strong communication skills are necessary, both internally with staff and externally with clients, as well as the ability to manage large transaction volumes and handle incoming queries efficiently.
We operate a hybrid working model, offering flexibility around hours and days worked, which can be discussed at the application or interview stage.
Key Responsibilities- Sales Ledger:
- Oversee the processing of sales invoices and ensure the timely collection of receivables.
- Monitor customer accounts, manage credit control, and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and review aged debt reports and follow up on outstanding invoices.
- Manage multiple inboxes and ensure accuracy of the sales pipeline.
- Collaborate with Heads of Department and Account Managers for regular updates.
- Produce end-of-month variance reports on budget vs. actuals.
- Purchase Ledger:
- Manage the processing of supplier invoices, ensuring accurate coding and timely payments.
- Conduct payment runs and oversee the review, approval, and timely payment of employee expenses.
- Ensure all expense claims comply with company policies and are supported by appropriate documentation.
- Bank Accounts:
- Perform bank reconciliations for all company accounts.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between bank statements and company records.
- Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and promptly.
- Team Involvement:
- Support the Head of Finance in training and guiding the Finance Assistant Apprentice.
- Delegate tasks and manage the Finance Assistant Apprentice in their daily duties.
- Additional Duties:
- VAT Returns: Check and submit VAT Returns in compliance with HMRC regulations and deadlines using Xero software.
- Payroll: Prepare and process company payroll in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with tax and legal requirements. Manage pension contributions, benefits, and other payroll-related tasks.
- 5+ years' experience in a similar role.
- AAT Qualified or qualified by experience.
- Ownership of sales and purchase ledgers.
- Confident investigating historic transactional discrepancies.
- Confident using cloud-based accountancy software and learning new systems.
- Ability to manage large transaction volumes and handle incoming queries efficiently.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Suite, including Outlook and Excel.
- Good administrative skills.
