David Phillips, a leading furnishing service provider in the UK, is seeking an experienced Transport Operations Manager to join our Beckton operations center.

We are committed to Operational Excellence and are looking for a highly motivated individual to oversee transportation and optimize resources. The successful candidate will ensure our transportation operations are safe, compliant, and meet the needs of our customers.

The salary for this position is approximately £60,000-£70,000 per annum, depending on experience. This is a hybrid remote role in London, E6 6LS. As a transport operations expert, you will have extensive knowledge and experience of operational processes and practices, particularly in transport operations. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, supporting the Operations Director with operational cost management, performance reporting, and demonstrating strong cost leadership.

You will also be responsible for assisting the Operations Director in developing peak plans aligned with forecasted volumes and changes in automation to meet financial and resourcing needs. This includes preparing detailed shift reports, analyzing failed KPIs, and developing evidence-supported action plans for improvement. Additionally, you will propose recommendations to enhance fleet efficiency, reduce costs, and improve vehicle utilization by tracking fuel consumption and maintenance expenses.

Prioritizing tasks based on urgency, importance, and available resources is essential for this role. As a named CPC holder on Operators licence, your solid understanding of the responsibilities of a CPC holder on an Operator's License is essential. Ideally, the candidate is already qualified or actively working towards qualification within the next 6 months.
