Babcock International Group is a leading provider of complex products and services to the global energy, aerospace, and defense markets. We are currently seeking a skilled Workshop Fabrication Specialist to join our team at our RAF Wyton site.
The Role
As a Workshop Fabrication Specialist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining lathes and milling machines to produce precision components according to specifications. You will also utilize fabrication techniques to assemble, cut, and shape materials to meet project requirements. Additionally, you will maintain welding equipment and ensure a safe working environment, perform welding tasks using various techniques (MIG, TIG, or ARC) to fabricate metal components, and inspect welded joints for accuracy and conformance to specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain lathes and milling machines to produce precision components according to specifications.
- Utilize fabrication techniques to assemble, cut, and shape materials to meet project requirements.
- Maintain welding equipment and ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform welding tasks using various techniques (MIG, TIG, or ARC) to fabricate metal components.
- Inspect welded joints for accuracy and conformance to specifications.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Workshop Fabrication Specialist or similar role in operating lathes and milling machines to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work on own initiative independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Level 3 Award in Gas, Mig and Tig Welding with knowledge of the different welding techniques.
- Full driving licence.
- Normal colour perception graded as CP2.
Security Clearance:
- The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain SC Clearance.
