About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Workshop Fabrication Specialist to join our team at Babcock International Group. As a Workshop Fabrication Specialist, you will play a critical role in the production of precision components using metalwork and machine fabrication techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain lathes and milling machines to produce high-quality components according to specifications.
  • Utilize fabrication techniques to assemble, cut, and shape materials to meet project requirements.
  • Maintain welding equipment and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Perform welding tasks using various techniques (MIG, TIG, or ARC) to fabricate metal components, and inspect welded joints for accuracy and conformance to specifications.
  • Be the appointed Inventory holder for materials and tools.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide regular updates on project progress.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Workshop Fabrication Specialist or similar role in operating lathes and milling machines to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work on own initiative independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Level 3 Award in Gas, Mig and Tig Welding with knowledge of the different welding techniques.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Normal colour perception graded as CP2.
  • Able to achieve and maintain SC Clearance.
