Chief Respiratory Physiologist

The Respiratory Physiology department at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a highly experienced Chief Respiratory Physiologist to lead our team on a permanent, full-time basis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert clinical care, supporting junior colleagues, and demonstrating best practice in our service to the Trust and the wider community.
Main Responsibilities- Perform full lung function testing safely and in accordance with established guidelines.
- Conduct a range of respiratory diagnostic tests, including spirometry, gas transfer, static lung volumes, bronchodilator response testing, and shuttle walk tests.
- Undertake expert analysis and clinical interpretation of test results, providing accurate and timely analysis to support patient care.
- Identify and rectify equipment faults and malfunctions, ensuring that our testing equipment is in good working order.
- Communicate complex information to patients and their carers regarding test results, providing clear and sensitive explanations.
- Lead on the production of the monthly divisional performance report for business meetings, ensuring that our team's performance is accurately reflected.
