Main Responsibilities:

As a Senior Technician Pilot Cutters, you will be responsible for supporting the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all onboard systems. This includes supporting planned maintenance and both normal and emergency repair work when required. You will also consult with Operations and Technical as required to achieve maximum output and support to operation and vessels.

Key Accountabilities:
  1. Support the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all onboard systems.
  2. Support planned maintenance and both normal and emergency repair work when required.
  3. Consult with Operations and Technical as required to achieve maximum output and support to operation and vessels.
  4. Keep the Operations and Technical Superintendent appraised of any issues that may affect operational output.
  5. Assist with ensuring compliance with all relevant Oil and Environmental Pollution Prevention Legislation.
  6. Ensure that all responsible Officers are familiar with Emergency Procedures, Contingency Plans, and capable of operating all Safety and Pollution Prevention equipment and appliances.
  7. Become familiar with details of the vessel's construction, machinery, and operating characteristics.
  8. Conduct routine planning and maintenance in accordance with the maintenance schedule.
  9. Support external contractors, ensuring that any repair work carried out is done satisfactorily.
  10. Escort and work with contractors as required.
  11. Formulate and return any reports as required by the company.
  12. Carry out any additional duties reasonably requested by the company, in line with the individual's qualifications.
  13. Support barge operations for the assigned barge (fuel, sewage, or sullage).
  14. Fulfill the role of barge operative when conducting barge operations.
Requirements:
  1. Minimum CoC as an Engineer Officer of the Watch or higher (e.g., 2nd Engineer).
  2. In date ENG1.
  3. Any requisite STCW qualification to fulfill the primary role of the selected individual.
  4. Basic Level Management / Leadership training or demonstrable equivalence.
  5. Interpersonal skills adaptable to work with a small crew.
  6. Knowledge of SMS and the ISM Code.
  7. IT awareness.
  8. Health and Safety awareness.
  9. Marine Industry Background.
  10. Understanding of a planned maintenance system (such as AMOS).
