Pilot Cutter Engineer

Serco is seeking a highly skilled Pilot Cutter Engineer to join our Marine Team in Faslane. As the primary engineer responsible for the Pilot Cutters and respective barge(s), your primary objective is to maintain and support the vessels mechanically and electrically, ensuring all operations can be undertaken. You will be responsible for day-to-day management of the vessels, logs, and maintenance records, as well as recording and reporting data as required.

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:

1. Ensuring compliance with all relevant Oil and Environmental Pollution Prevention Legislation.
2. Supporting and ensuring that all responsible Officers are familiar with Emergency Procedures, Contingency Plans, and capable of operating all Safety and Pollution Prevention equipment and appliances.
3. Conducting routine planning and maintenance in accordance with the maintenance schedule.
4. Supporting with and via external contractors, ensuring that any repair work being undertaken is carried out satisfactorily.
5. Escorting and working with contractors as required.
