About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Assistant to provide support to the nursing staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team in delivering high-quality care to patients in a safe and caring environment.

This involves working with our Ophthalmic Nurses in outpatients and theatre.

">

You will have a natural ability to help make the lives of others more fulfilling and want to work in an environment where the work can be hard, but also fun and rewarding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Welcome visitors to the service in a pleasant efficient manner, ensuring the appropriate person is notified of their arrival.">
  • Deal with enquiries in a helpful and courteous manner, maintaining confidentiality at all times.">
  • Demonstrate competence in accurately recording routine clinical observations.">
  • Carry out clinical skills relevant to the unit.">
  • Assist the clinical team with data entry, filling, and maintenance of accurate documentation of care.">
  • Ensure treatment rooms/areas are adequately stocked, tidy, and fit for purpose.">
  • Adhere to appropriate infection control procedures.">
  • Participate fully as a team member, sharing knowledge and information, and promoting a cohesive team.">
  • Accurately record up-to-date information on records, ensuring the department is promptly informed of any changes.">
  • Participate in stock control and ordering of consumables within the clinical areas.">

Requirements:

  • ">
  • A willingness to work hard, learn, and develop in the role, while understanding the value of teamwork and a good work ethic.">
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care, with a willingness to undertake training to gain further clinical skills.">
  • Experience or a good understanding of HCA duties and responsibilities.">
  • The ability to receive and communicate information accurately, and take instruction from professional colleagues.">
  • The flexibility to fit into internal rotating shift patterns.">
