Job Title: Technical Lead for Digital Engineering

This is a permanent, full-time vacancy at the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC). As a Technical Lead for Digital Engineering, you will be responsible for leading and delivering technical excellence across a portfolio of projects. Your role will involve providing thought leadership on the delivery of innovative technical solutions, as well as playing a leadership role in the delivery of impactful project outputs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Technology and Industrial Sectors' awareness of existing capabilities and emerging technologies.
  • Support the development of their pipelines and project proposals.
  • Develop specific technical and business strategies by creating technical roadmaps that define how technology-based value propositions can be developed to meet the modelling and simulation challenges identified by the Industrial Sectors.
  • Lead and develop collaborative research and development funding opportunities and develop winning proposals to fund the development of the value propositions you lead.
  • Ensure that your colleagues receive the most appropriate technical guidance and governance in the delivery of their project work.
  • Provide technical governance as required for all aspects of MTC's proposal and project delivery processes.
Requirements:
  • At least 7 years of industrial experience leading simulation, modelling and analytical studies, including data-driven modelling, DOE, Monte Carlo, Surrogates, Statistical.
  • In-depth understanding/appreciation of the challenges in the adoption of digital technologies in respect to modelling and simulation.
  • Expertise in one or more technologies that contributes towards delivery of Digital Engineering's strategic vision of virtual manufacturing validation, digitally assisted design, model-based adaptive manufacturing.
  • Focused solution/application development for industrial end users.
  • Collaborative R&D bid development including ideas creation, identification of funding routes, consortium building and bid writing.
  • Providing Modelling and Simulation technical training.
  • Supporting the development of engineers through activities such as coaching, mentoring and objective setting.
  • Strong understanding of the breadth of Digital Engineering technologies and their respective manufacturing industrial application.
  • Demonstrable commercial skills and acumen, competent in creating marketing collateral and implementing communication plans.
