About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Rail Operator 2. As a key member of our station team, you will be responsible for leading a team of station assistants to provide a safe and welcoming environment for our customers.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Ensure the safety of yourself, colleagues, and customers at all times.
  2. Comply with company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  3. Lead and direct staff in the provision of excellent customer service.
  4. Ensure the station is clean and well-presented at all times.
  5. Manage emergency procedures and implement evacuation procedures when required.
  6. Maintain signing on/off records for staff under your control.
  7. Ensure arrangements are made to cover short-term and late notice absences.
  8. Ensure the safe and punctual dispatch of trains.
  9. Identify and report incidents of delays to services.
  10. Wear uniform and safety clothing as supplied.
  11. Maintain security of the station premises.
Requirements
  • Able to travel to your location of work within 60 minutes.
  • Good general education.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Team leadership ability.
  • Resilience.
  • Supervisory experience is desirable.
  • Able to distinguish colours with normal colour vision.
Working Pattern

Our customers need us all day, every day, and as part of the station team, you'll need to be able to work shifts at all times of the day and on every day of the week.

On average, you will work 37 hours per week over 5 days, including a mixture of early, late, and weekend shifts.

The Reward

There may be opportunities to work on rest days or to do overtime, which could give you the possibility of your overall pay being approximately £30,000 per annum plus regional allowance.
