Financial Operations Supervisor

This position is responsible for supervising and coordinating the operations of the accounting unit within the Local Departments of Social Services.
The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Governmental Accounting Standards, and supervisory principles, practices, and techniques.
Responsibilities include overseeing the preparation of accounting records and reports, supervising and training fiscal and administrative support employees, and performing audits and responding to audit findings.
The selected candidate will also have the ability to plan, coordinate, assign, and review work of employees, prepare financial reports, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
A high school diploma supplemented with post-secondary coursework in office or business administration, accounting, computer science, or related field is required, along with related administrative or supervisory experience.
Preferred qualifications include supervisory experience or work experience in a leadership role, a bachelor's degree in accounting, and knowledge in public assistance and social service programs.
