Vehicle Examiner

The Vehicle Examiner is a key position within our engineering team, responsible for ensuring the delivery of effective and efficient examination standards. This role requires strong leadership and motivational skills to lead the Vehicle Examination Team.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out Maintenance and Safety Audits to ensure compliance with Central Engineering Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Lead the Vehicle Examination Team to achieve high standards of examination and maintenance.
- Provide guidance and support to other staff as required.
- Ensure full compliance with all HS&E legislation and Group policies.
- Comply with all relevant Engineering SOPs.
- Minimum level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent qualification certificate and working experience in the role.
- Awareness of the DVSA standards for both the categorisation of defects (Spot checks/enforcement) and annual test.
- Conversant with the safe operation of workshop equipment, including hydraulic vehicle lifts, pressurised oil and waste systems, battery chargers and starters, trolley jacks, scaffolding, pressure wash and automatic washing equipment, headlamp alignment tester, hydraulic jacks and testing equipment, drilling machine, torque wrenches, pedestal grinders and general portable equipment.
- Willingness to attend underpinning training opportunities, such as NC in Supervisory Management and Engineering and/or Corporate Membership of IRTE, and to complete them to the suitable standard within an agreed timescale.
- Full PCV licence.
