About the Role
The Vehicle Examiner is responsible for ensuring the delivery of effective and efficient examination standards within the examination team under their control, in accordance with Central Engineering Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Leadership and motivation of the Vehicle Examination Team.
- Carrying out Maintenance and Safety Audits.
- Compliance with all HS&E legislation and Group policies.
- Compliance with all relevant Engineering SOPs.
- Providing guidance to other staff as required.
Requirements
- A minimum level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent qualification certificate and working experience in the role.
- Awareness of the DVSA standards for both the categorisation of defects and annual test.
- Familiarity with the safe operation of workshop equipment, including hydraulic vehicle lifts, pressurised oil and waste systems, and general portable equipment.
- Willingness to attend underpinning training opportunities, such as NC in Supervisory Management and Engineering, and Corporate Membership of IRTE.
- A full PCV licence.
- Flexibility in respect to working hours and job roles.
