About the Role

The Vehicle Examiner is an integral part of our engineering team at First Bus, responsible for ensuring the delivery of effective and efficient examination standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and motivate the Vehicle Examination Team to meet examination standards.
  • Perform Maintenance and Safety Audits to ensure compliance with Central Engineering Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ensure full compliance with all HS&E legislation and Group policies.
  • Provide guidance and support to other staff as required.

Requirements:

  • A minimum level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent qualification and relevant working experience.
  • Familiarity with DVSA standards for defect categorisation and annual testing.
  • Ability to operate workshop equipment safely, including hydraulic vehicle lifts and pressure wash equipment.
  • Willingness to attend underpinning training opportunities and complete them to a suitable standard.
  • Full PCV licence and flexibility in working hours and job roles.
