Job Summary:

The Senior Wellbeing Officer will be responsible for providing comprehensive welfare and wellbeing support services to students on a range of issues, including mental health, academic pressures, and personal concerns.

The post holder will be familiar with the Central University Support Services and offer relevant signposting and follow-up support to students, ensuring they receive the necessary guidance and resources to navigate university life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a full case load of student wellbeing cases, providing individualized support and guidance to students in need.
  • Support and liaise with Junior and Middle Common Room representatives to ensure effective communication and collaboration between student groups.
  • Work closely with the porters and Junior Deans to provide a seamless and supportive experience for students.
  • Develop and implement wellbeing interventions and activities that promote student wellbeing and resilience.
  • Collaborate with the Wellbeing Team to triage and signpost students to relevant support services, ensuring they receive the necessary help and resources.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of student wellbeing and mental health support services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and external partners.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meet the needs of students and the university.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple cases.
  • Knowledge of university policies and procedures, with a commitment to upholding the values and principles of St John's College University of Oxford.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this position is £45,000 - £50,000 per annum, with a range of benefits and perks available to staff members, including access to university facilities and resources.
