Minister for Rural Community Development

We are seeking an experienced and Eucharistically centred priest to lead our single church benefice in a rural-urban border community.
Job DescriptionThis is a unique opportunity to join The Church of England as a Minister for Rural Community Development. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for leading our congregation in a liberal catholic tradition, fostering a strong sense of fellowship, social action, environmental awareness, and celebrating God's love with those around us.
The ideal candidate will have experience in rebuilding congregations to pre-covid levels, maintaining relationships with local schools, and supporting mission action plans. You will also be able to contribute to our children's monthly WoW service, pastoral care team, and cornerstone volunteer team.
Key Responsibilities- Lead worship services and provide spiritual guidance to the congregation
- Foster a sense of community and belonging among members
- Develop and implement mission action plans to engage with the local community
- Maintain relationships with local schools and other community groups
- Ordination as a priest in the Church of England or another Anglican denomination
- Experience in leading worship services and providing spiritual guidance
- Ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve common goals
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Two funded retreats per annum
- An 'on site' Parish Administrator working 15 hours Monday to Friday am
- A Ministry Team made up of a retired Priest with PTO, a Licensed Lay Minister, and a Licensed Lay Preacher
- A team for our children's monthly WoW service
- A Pastoral Care team
- A cornerstone volunteer team
- Monthly meeting with the Churchwardens
The salary for this position is estimated to be between £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to the salary, we offer a range of benefits including two funded retreats per annum, an 'on site' Parish Administrator, and a Ministry Team.
