About the Role

As an Engineering Design Manager at Babcock International Group, you will play a critical role in the development and delivery of complex design solutions within safety-critical facilities. You will be responsible for managing the technical aspects of projects, from identification of the need through to handover, acting as the Technical Authority single point of contact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Scoping and managing the technical delivery of projects throughout their lifecycle
  • Supporting the Design Management Group to manage the development and delivery of complex design solutions
  • Securing, organising and leading internal and external resources as the project demands
  • Ensuring that design outputs are fit for purpose and delivered within agreed budgetary and schedule constraints
  • Developing and applying a structured design process in a proportionate manner that reflects conventional and nuclear facility applications

Requirements

  • Strong technical background and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Sound understanding of designing and substantiating solutions for safety-critical applications
  • Experience of the design lifecycle and a logical approach to problem solving
  • Hold a Degree in a STEM subject or demonstrate equivalent experience
  • Registered as a Chartered/Incorporated Engineer or working towards this, with membership of a relevant professional institution

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
