Head of International Wholesale/Global Access

Role Overview

The Head of International Wholesale/Global Access will be responsible for leading the export wholesale division, driving financial performance and growth. This role requires a strong pharmaceutical industry export background, with experience in wholesale or manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing a balanced pipeline of short-term tactical opportunities to long-term strategic engagements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set the strategic direction of the export wholesale division and enable the team to deliver against individual targets.
  • Manage and coach a team of account managers, providing advice where required.
  • Enable the team to develop and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with clients through an account management approach.
  • Identify, qualify, and manage new leads in conjunction with account managers.
  • Manage sales reporting and report to senior management on sales figures, account planning, and opportunity management.
  • Account manage a smaller portfolio of clients.
  • Travel globally to visit clients and pharmaceutical exhibitions.

Requirements

  • Graduate with excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexible and adaptive to the changing requirements of the business.
  • Strong pharmaceutical industry export experience, either in wholesale or manufacturing.
  • Strong experience of account management for clients with both large and medium revenue spend.
  • Proven track record of managing a balanced pipeline of short-term tactical opportunities to long-term strategic engagements.
  • Able to develop a network of senior and middle management contacts.
  • Strong sales and opportunity management skills across the full sales cycle.
  • Experience of creation and implementation of strategic and tactical customer account plans.
  • Experience of financial reporting/forecasting and sales opportunity management to senior management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and CRM and ERP systems.
