Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and assisting the Band 7 in the management of the Endoscopy Unit, ensuring the delivery of efficient and productive services. This includes:

  • Assessing and planning care for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures
  • Developing and implementing programs of care, including discharge planning
  • Providing education and support to patients, relatives, and carers
  • Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective communication and care coordination
  • Participating in preceptorship programs and acting as a facilitator, mentor, and role model to junior staff
Key Responsibilities:

The Junior Sister/Charge Nurse will be responsible for:

  • Leading and managing a patient-centered nursing service delivered by professional staff
  • Developing and implementing nursing practice guidelines, standards, and policies
  • Providing training and development opportunities for junior staff, student nurses, and healthcare assistants
  • Assisting in the assessment and monitoring of staffing requirements and reporting problems to the appropriate manager
  • Deputizing for the Departmental Manager in their absence
Person Specification:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Registered Nurse on sub-part 1 or 2 of the professional register
  • Evidence of continuing education
  • NMC recognized Mentorship qualification
