Support Assistant for Children with SEN

About the Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and caring individual to join our team as a Learning Support Assistant at a wonderful Primary School in Croydon. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with children in KS1 & KS2 who require additional support, including those with autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and emotional/behavioral challenges.
- Provide one-on-one and group support for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) by modifying tasks, providing additional resources, and helping children develop their skills and confidence.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and other staff members to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that caters to the needs of each child.
- Observe and record children's behavior, progress, and emotional development to inform interventions and care plans.
About You:
We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with children, particularly those with SEN, and is eager to develop their career in education or related fields. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience and develop your skills in supporting children with diverse needs.
- A strong interest in child psychology, SEN, or educational psychology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, staff, and parents.
- A relevant qualification or experience in psychology, education, or a related field (e.g., degree in psychology, childcare, or special educational needs).
What We Offer:
A competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional development.
