Teaching Assistant Opportunity in Northumberland

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team in an excellent Primary School in Northumberland. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support pupils with challenging behaviour and SEN on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Manage challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive, and consistent manner
  • Build positive relationships with Class Teachers to support pupils and discuss/implement strategies and learning activities to promote pupil progress
  • Prepare resources for lessons
  • Supervise pupils at break times and lunch times as required
Requirements:
  • An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service)
  • A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 3 ideal, but Level 2 will also be considered)
  • Experience of working as a Teaching Assistant within Schools in the UK
  • An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff
  • A resilient, proactive, and positive nature
  • High levels of enthusiasm, energy, and positivity when working with pupils
