Job Title: HGV Class 2 Driver/Highways Operative

We are seeking a skilled HGV Class 2 driver to join our team as a Highways Operative. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating heavy goods vehicles, performing vehicle checks, and undertaking manual handling tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate HGVs safely and efficiently
  • Perform vehicle checks and basic maintenance
  • Undertake manual handling tasks, including unloading vehicles and using barrows
  • Assist with tarmacking, kerbing, concreting, and general groundwork
  • Adhere to technical specifications, schedules, and health and safety standards
Requirements:
  • Valid Category C Licence
  • Commercial driving experience
  • Experience in civil engineering, construction, or highways industry
  • Flexibility with duties and willingness to undertake manual handling tasks
  • Physical fitness due to nature of duties
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and use own initiative
Benefits:
  • Competitive hourly rate: £12.20-12.48 per hour
  • Overtime at 1.5 times the hourly rate (when available)
