At Serco, we operate Prisoner Escort Custody Services (PECS) across courts and vehicle bases throughout London, East & West England. Our team works tirelessly to ensure the safe and secure transportation of over , custodies per month. As a Planning & Logistics Officer, you will be a key member of our Operational Control Centre Team in Gloucester, responsible for delivering the PECS Plan and ensuring the timely return of custodies to their destinations.

As a Planning & Logistics Officer, you will work closely with our crews and establishments to produce robust schedules, combining data sources such as court and prison locations, crew routes, and trackers. You will be responsible for adapting to unpredictable changes and dealing with any incidents or challenges that occur throughout the day.

We operate on a rota basis, allowing you to enjoy meaningful time off to do the things you love. You will cover various shift patterns, including Nights & Weekends, but we offer flexible working options to ensure a good work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for:

  • Delivering the PECS Plan, ensuring the safe and secure transportation of custodies.
  • Producing robust schedules, combining data sources such as court and prison locations, crew routes, and trackers.
  • Adapting to unpredictable changes and dealing with any incidents or challenges that occur throughout the day.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Resilience and ability to work under pressure.
  • Computer literacy and ability to quickly assimilate large volumes of data.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 4, and all offers of employment are subject to security clearance checks and approval by the Home Office. You will be required to obtain Ministry of Justice Enhanced Level 2 Vetting & Enhanced DBS with Child Barring.
