Teaching Assistant Position

Join our team as a dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant and contribute to the care and education of early years children in a Primary school setting near Launceston.

About the Job

In this role, you will work closely with the Pre-School/Nursery Manager to support the development of early years children through practical organisation of pre-school activities and monitoring their educational progress.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Pre-School Manager to plan, evaluate, and deliver learning activities aligned with the Early Years Framework and Development Matters in EYFS, promoting Early Learning Goals.
  • Document children's progress through observations, provide feedback to the Pre-School Manager and parents, and engage children by supporting their interests and accessing planned activities.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe, welcoming, and stimulating learning environment by preparing and updating wall displays.
  • Support children with specific learning difficulties, ensure full access to the EYFS curriculum, and promote good behavior and self-discipline in line with the nursery's positive behavior policy.
Essential Requirements:
  • Relevant experience in early years settings or working with young children.
  • Understanding of the Early Years Framework.
  • Patience, creativity, and a nurturing approach.
  • Effective communication skills for working with children, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Necessary qualifications include a valid Early years Qualification - NVQ Level 3 or CACHE level 2.

This role is paid £22,070 per annum, depending on experience, and offers progression opportunities from a temporary to permanent position in a supportive environment.
