Data Governance Specialist

FDM Group Ltd. is seeking a Data Governance Lead to join our client's digital technology team within the Energy sector. This is an initial 6-month contract with potential for extension.
As the Data Governance Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring UK alignment to the client's data governance strategy. You will have ownership of the overarching data governance strategy and governance processes. This role requires you to be a subject matter expert, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and maintain effective communication.
Responsibilities- Act as the single point of contact for the client into Group for data governance topics and projects.
- Lead on ensuring data owners in the client's pillars and central functions are aware of data governance guidance, cascading all relevant data governance information from Group.
- UK owner and subject matter expert of the client's data governance tool of choice, upskilling pillar data leads and data owners on how to self-serve.
- Provide data governance guidance to UK digital technology projects, understanding the technology strategy for data.
We are looking for a candidate with demonstrable experience in access management, data quality, data policies (GDPR etc), and data governance tooling implementation. You should be a subject matter expert in your field, with great attention to detail and excellent communication skills. You should be able to explain technical details in non-technical terms, influence senior stakeholders, facilitate workshops, and carry out presentations in a confident manner. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships. Experience working with an international team is also required.
