About the Role

Schoen Clinic Newbridge is seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist nursing staff in implementing patient care plans, adhering to NICE guidelines and best practices.
  • Build strong therapeutic relationships with patients, their families, and carers.
  • Conduct regular patient assessments, monitoring their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Support patients during meal times, assist with feeding methods, and maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Perform clinical tasks with expertise, working collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care.
  • Ensure patient safety, reporting any concerns or incidents promptly.
  • Understand and apply safeguarding principles, maintaining confidentiality and respecting patient autonomy.

Person Specification

We are seeking an individual with:

  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting, with a strong understanding of patient safety and confidentiality.
  • Able to maintain professional boundaries, respecting patient autonomy and dignity.
  • Experience with MS Office systems and IT-based patient record systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Awareness of NICE guidelines and best practices.
  • Competence in undertaking basic physical observations and personal care.
  • Experience working as a Healthcare Assistant in an inpatient environment.
  • Awareness and commitment to equality and diversity, with a strong understanding of safeguarding principles.
  • Knowledge of MHA & MCA, with the ability to apply these principles in practice.
