Ophthalmology Consultant

Job Summary
This is a full-time substantive Consultant post that attracts 10 programmed activities per week.
As a key member of the Planned Care Directorate at East Cheshire NHS Trust, the post holder will be responsible for delivering high-quality ophthalmology services.
The successful candidate will have general ophthalmology experience and be fully competent in phacoemulsification - cataract surgery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Active involvement and leadership in the management and decision-making of complex ophthalmic cases.
- Availability during working hours to facilitate communication and consultation with medical and nursing staff.
- Closely liaise with operational line managers and the clinical lead to ensure waiting list targets and associated standards are achieved.
- Ensure that management plans are clearly displayed in patient notes with complex needs.
