Ophthalmology Consultant

Job Summary
This is a substantive Consultant post with 10 programmed activities per week, offering a unique opportunity to join the Planned Care Directorate at East Cheshire NHS Trust.
The post holder will be expected to have general ophthalmology experience and be fully competent in phacoemulsification - cataract surgery.
Applicants must continue to hold a Licence to Practise and meet the person specification requirements.
Key Responsibilities
The successful appointee will take a share of the Consultant Clinical responsibilities within the department, including:
- Active involvement and leadership in management and decision-making of complex ophthalmic cases.
- Availability during working hours for medical and nursing staff to communicate and consult freely.
- Closely liaising with Operational Line managers and the Clinical Lead to ensure waiting list targets and associated standards are achieved.
- Ensuring management plans are clearly displayed in patient notes with complex needs.
