Job Title: Cerebral Palsy Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate support worker to join our team in providing care and support to a young boy with cerebral palsy and brain injury. Our client lives at home with his family and beloved family dog, and we are looking for a support worker who has experience in complex care and can provide emotional support and companionship.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with personalised routines, including hoists, to support the client's daily living activities.
  • Administer medication and monitor health conditions, ensuring the client's safety and well-being.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship, promoting the client's independence and quality of life.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in the client's condition to relevant healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborate with a range of healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care and support.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in complex care, with a focus on cerebral palsy and brain injury.
  • Ability to deal with challenging behaviours and provide emotional support and companionship.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work the specified hours and adapt to changing circumstances.
