Job Title: Cerebral Palsy Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate support worker to join our team in providing care and support to a young boy with cerebral palsy and brain injury. Our client requires a support worker who has experience in complex care and can provide emotional support and companionship.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with personalised routines inclusive of hoists to ensure the client's comfort and safety.
  • Complete daily living activities, including personal hygiene and mobility, to promote the client's independence.
  • Administer medication and monitor health conditions to ensure the client's well-being.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to the client, promoting a positive and supportive environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in the client's conditions to relevant healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborate with a range of healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care and support.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in complex care, to ensure the support worker has the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality care.
  • Ability to deal with challenging behaviours and provide a calm and supportive environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with the client, family members, and healthcare professionals.
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature to provide emotional support and companionship to the client.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to ensure comprehensive care and support.
  • Flexibility to work the specified hours to meet the client's needs.
