Key Responsibilities:

  • Work independently with minimal supervision, normally receiving minimal instruction on day-to-day activities.
  • Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires thorough evaluation.
  • Work with Change Incident Management Tools.
  • Collaborate in cross-functional teams and influence outcomes.
  • Adhere to ESFB, regulatory policies, and procedures.
  • Perform daily health checks of backup and storage systems.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of configurations and process documents.

Must Have Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Networker, Data Domain, Commvault.
  • Troubleshooting maintenance activities and upgrades.
  • Good hands-on experience with group policy, datasets, replication, and schedules.

Good to Have Skills:

  • Knowledge of PPDM and Networker Data Domain integration.
  • Knowledge of DDBoost, NFS/CIFS, and M Tree configuration on Data Domain.
  • Working experience in Windows 2012, Windows 2016, Linux, and Solaris platforms.
  • Co-ordination with internal stakeholders for backup agent configuration.
  • Monitoring and report configuration on DPA (Data Protection Advisory).
  • Audit report extraction on Networker and DPA.
  • Experience with tape library and tape rotation procedures.
  • Regular backup restoration drills.
  • Preparation and periodic review of backup process documents.
  • Planning and preparation of hardware and software sizing for future projections.
  • Working directly with backup vendors for any P1 tickets.
  • Regular patching and upgrades of all backup software.
  • Validating the backup health check report on a daily basis.
  • Creating proper tickets for each backup job failure.
  • Opening bridge calls and including all stakeholders for any P1 incident.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to work extended hours.
  • Backup certification will be an added advantage.

Storage:

  • Knowledge in storage administration.
  • Knowledge in NAS and SAN storages.
  • Configuration of LUNs and SAN switches.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of Linux systems and backup software.
  • Experience with data protection and storage systems.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
