Linux Engineering Team Lead

At Quant Capital, we are seeking a talented Linux Engineer to join our dynamic team as a Technical Lead.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for mentoring and leading, with strong technical expertise in Linux engineering. This role will start off as an individual contributor position for the first 6 months, allowing the candidate to gain in-depth knowledge of our platform and systems, before transitioning into a leadership role.
We operate globally as a well-known quantitative proprietary trading firm, liquidity provider, and market maker. Our technology is a mixture of in-house and open-source solutions, allowing deep customization and innovation on every level.
Main Responsibilities:
- Providing guidance and support to the growing team of Linux Engineers, helping them thrive and excel in their roles.
- Leading by example, maintaining a hands-on approach to technical contributions while gradually transitioning into a leadership role.
- Ensuring the continuous maintenance and improvement of the platform powering production trading systems.
- Building and nurturing partnerships across the organization to foster a collaborative environment.
- Analyzing and resolving complex technical challenges at various levels, from operating system fundamentals to systems programming concepts.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Strong programming experience and willingness to learn new technologies.
- Proven experience in leading and supporting individuals and teams effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and collaborations across the organization.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, encompassing technical, process-oriented, and people-related aspects.
- In-depth knowledge of operating system fundamentals, with a focus on Linux.
- Proficiency in Unix command line and shell scripting.
