Deputy Head of Engineering and Curriculum Development

About The Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate individual to join our team as Deputy Head of Engineering and Curriculum Development at Ashford College. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of our engineering curriculum, ensuring it meets the needs of our students and the local community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a highly relevant and distinctive engineering curriculum that meets local and regional skills requirements.
- Work closely with the Head of Engineering to support the growth and development of the department.
- Oversee the Mechanical and Electrical/Electronic Engineering qualifications, ensuring they are up-to-date and relevant to industry needs.
- Plan and implement the launch of new T levels in Engineering, working closely with stakeholders to ensure a successful rollout.
- Contribute to the development of a centre of excellence for green engineering within the region, working with colleagues to identify opportunities for growth and development.

About You
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about making a difference to the future careers of our students. Ideally, you will have an industry background in machining workshops, engineering, or construction, and experience in academic leadership, guidance, and managing a curriculum. You will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead a team and work collaboratively with colleagues.
