Job Overview

Ambitious professionals seeking a challenging role in environmental risk mitigation are invited to apply for the Workplace Health and Safety Specialist position at Amazon. This exciting opportunity will see you partner with stakeholders to develop and manage methane and vapor intrusion mitigation programs, supporting one of the safest real estate programs in the world.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough reviews of properties to assess ground gas risks, ensuring the safety of our employees and customers.
  • Review designs, construction plans, and operational data for WHS mitigation systems, guaranteeing their effectiveness.
  • Perform regular inspections during construction, startup, and operation to evaluate conditions and confirm design assumptions.
  • Oversee OMM operations, including developing scopes of work and coordinating events.
  • Collaborate with various teams on ground gas risks, methane and vapor intrusion mitigation systems, and OMM.
  • Provide training and feedback on methane and vapor intrusion systems and OMM plans, enhancing team performance.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Chemical or Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Process Engineering, or related field.
  • Prior experience owning program strategy, end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership.
  • Proven track record in environmental technical resources, program specialists, or project managers with a focus on methane and vapor intrusion.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in methane/vapor intrusion system operation, maintenance, and monitoring.
  • Additional language fluency is highly valued.

About the Role
