Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Child Protection Specialist to join our team in County Durham. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with vulnerable children, young people, and families to ensure their safety and well-being.

About the Role:

  • This is a rewarding and challenging role that requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a deep understanding of child protection principles and practices.
  • You will work closely with families, carers, and other professionals to assess and manage risk, develop safety plans, and provide support to help individuals and families thrive.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct single assessments and work with children on a Child in Need basis.
  • Undertake Child Protection work and enquiries under Section 47.
  • Work with Public and Private Law cases, using a strengths-based, relational, trauma-aware approach.
  • Develop and implement safety plans and networks with the child's voice at the centre of all decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
