Job Overview

Ackerman Pierce Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Child Protection Specialist to join their Referral and Assessment service in Luton. The ideal candidate will have a recognized social work qualification and proven experience in a social work role.

About the Role

This challenging and rewarding position offers flexible working hours for working parents and a supportive team culture with regular supervision on cases. As a Child Protection Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting Child Protection Investigations, contributing to strategy discussions, and preparing detailed reports for Child Protection Conferences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting Child Protection Investigations, including Section 47 inquiries.
  • Contributing to strategy discussions and multi-agency safeguarding meetings.
  • Preparing and presenting detailed reports for Child Protection Conferences.
  • Managing child protection plans and ensuring regular reviews.
  • Working collaboratively with other agencies to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children at risk.
  • Initiating care proceedings when necessary to protect children from harm.

Requirements

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A recognized social work qualification (degree or diploma).
  • Registered with the appropriate regulatory body (e.g., Social Work England).
  • Proven experience in a social work role, preferably within Referral and Assessment.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to social work practice.
